For reasons unknown to us, at the turn of the XX century, El Cabanyal experienced an unforeseen colour outburst: the Valencia's fishing village humble inhabitants reinterpreted Modernism, which had seduced contemporary western bourgeoisie, and built their houses following the pattern that would be known as "popular Modernism". The modernist tile facades which L'Oronella publishing house has chosen to be catalogued and photographed as an example of this little known and valued heritage, stand out among this whole architectural phenomenon.
